Frequently Asked Questions?
General F.A.Q
TOLI L.C. is a legal corporation that is licensed to practice law in the state of California. It is a DBA for Leeran S. Barzilai, A Professional Law Corporation.
Although California does not collect estate/inheritance taxes, the Federal Government does on the sum of money that exceeds a predetermined exclusionary amount (which typically changes year over year). The estate tax rate starts at 18% and goes up to 40% based on what tax bracket your estate falls under.
An irrevocable life insurance trust avoids estate taxes by removing ownership of the policy from the insured's estate, thus preventing the policy's death benefit payout from being included as an asset when calculating whether a deceased's estate exceeds the (estate tax) exemption amount.
TOLI L.C. strictly offers services for drafting irrevocable life insurance trusts in order to preclude collection of estate taxes on insurance proceeds, and to provide other trust benefits. TOLI L.C. also offers ancillary services for irrevocable life insurance trusts to ensure legal compliance, such as trustee services and transmutation agreements.
